How are Coaches Developed?
Our coaches receive ongoing training in technical, mental, and safety aspects and are guided by the Juventus Methodology, as required by USYS and Juventus F.C. Training templates serve as the foundation of their sessions, and their performance is evaluated by our training and game analysis expert. Luca Corona, our Juventus Academy Area Manager from Italy, provides additional support and advanced training during his quarterly visits and online sessions with the coaches.
How are Trainings Planned?
Our Training Coordinator prepares training guides tailored to each age group. These serve as templates accessed by coaches to plan and structure their training sessions effectively according to the team’s needs. Training guides are based on the training and game analysis done by our coach specialist based on observations of practices and games.
How can I get Feedback from our Coach?
Each player receives an official evaluation twice per year—at the end of the Fall season and again at the end of the Spring season. If you would like to discuss your player's progress, evaluation, or any aspect of their training, we encourage you to schedule a meeting with your player's coach. You can contact coaches directly through PlayMetrics to arrange a convenient time.
How are players evaluated?
Please, check the Player Pathway!Players are evaluated continuously throughout the season based on:Technical: Ball control, passing, first touch, dribbling, and shooting. The foundation of everything. Without strong technical skills, no tactical plan can be executed.Tactical: Game understanding, positioning, decision-making, and reading of play. We teach players not just where to be, but why—so they can solve problems on their own.Physical: Speed, agility, endurance, and strength—developed progressively and age-appropriately. Physical development directly supports technical execution at every level.Psychological: Coachability, resilience, focus, and competitive mentality. The ability to receive feedback and apply it immediately is the most important habit in any development environment.Social: Commitment, communication, respect, and responsibility. Great players are great teammates and great ambassadors for their programme. How the pillars connect to each phase:• Foundation & Development — Technical and Social pillars are the priority.• Competitive & Elite — all 5 pillars are evaluated equally and in depth at every evaluation.
Can players move to another team during the season?
Yes. Players may be moved to a different team during the season based on their development, available roster spots, and recommendations from the Technical Department. Any team changes are made with the player's long-term development as the primary consideration.
What should I do if my child cannot attend practice?
Please notify your coach through PlayMetrics as early as possible.
What happens if my child arrives late?
Players should check in with their coach before joining the session.
Can missed practices be made up?
No. Missed practices cannot be rescheduled, refunded, or credited. If a practice is canceled by Juventus Academy Houston due to weather or any other reason, the Academy will schedule a make-up session whenever possible. Families will be notified through PlayMetrics with all relevant details.
Is the SAQ class required?
The SAQ stands for Speed, Agility & Quickness. It is a supplemental training session designed to improve players' acceleration, agility, coordination, balance, and overall athletic performance. These physical qualities help players move more efficiently, react more quickly, and perform better on the field, regardless of their age or skill level. We offer SAQ to all Juventus Academy Houston players, including both our Competitive and Non-Competitive programs, because we believe athletic development is an essential part of every player's growth. With that said, we strongly encourage all players to attend consistently so they can get the full benefit of the program and continue developing throughout the season.
